Today was our last day of VBS and some hard goodbyes at that school. After three summers, they are truly family. We got to visit a public school at lunchtime between VBSs and visit (with the Gospel message!) in every single class - over 15. We broke up into teams. After the second shift of VBS, we did it again at the public schools (remember, they have two sets of kids in school at a time - a morning shift and an afternoon shift). We got to leave bibles with every child at the orphanage and gave one to each teacher (over 30) at the public school. We were a hit there as some kids knew us from the VBS and others from last year! Several around town and in the school continuously questioned - where is Leslie? where is Kara? where is Ashley?...
Jill and Jennifer had a cool home visit. They saw a bible we gave them last year that was well worn from use. The family's daughter was in our VBS. Beautiful little girl and a rodeo queen. The family makes high end boots from anaconda snakes! They saw some wild stuff! They had a very meaningful visit and prayer time.
We saw crafts that we had done with the kids in some of their homes on home visits - from 3 years ago! One elderly gentleman pulled out a tract from his pocket from last year that he got from Lindsey B.!
We had a goodbye supper at a church family's home tonight here in Rio Preto. More tough goodbyes. We should get another update on here in the morning before we pull out. Watch for it. Then we will update again when we get home. Be sure to ask John how to hunt 'deer'...he would love to show you sometime...
