We had an awesome day! Summary: We got to love on some kids! They were a blast. We started the day by dropping off the medical team at the church to begin their work. (This will be a biased report, as I was not with the medical team. I will have them give us a write up of their day.) We headed to the orphanage and immediately were warmly greeted by the staff who knew us from previous years and from about half the kids that knew us. The other half were new to the orphanage and were just as excited. We played with them, then set them down to sing some songs with us. Paul led them and got them fired up with fun hand motions. Hannah and her team then taught the Bible lesson. They did awesome. We then broke for organized games while handfuls of kids broke off to do their craft. See the pictures below. They speak more than I can here.
We then left for lunch. We spent about 30 minutes in the town greeting folks and just hanging out. Then headed back to the orphanage for the second shift of kids. Remember, they do things in shifts - they have a morning school then an afternoon school. There were about twice as many this time. Carlee almost could not leave this time for all the young ladies holding her back. We served this group their little lunch.
We picked up the medical team, then headed to supper. We got to eat with just us. Then had a great lesson/debriefing/family time in the hotel. We have a big day tomorrow doing about the same schedule as today, but we will be shifting duties tomorrow and this group will get the Gospel message. So pray about that.
